Gina Carano (born Gina Joy Carano on April 16, 1982) is an internationally recognized American actress, television personality, and former mixed martial artist. Born in Dallas County, Texas, United States, and raised primarily in Las Vegas, Nevada, she is the daughter of former NFL quarterback Glenn Carano. Naturally athletic from an early age, she excelled in high school basketball, volleyball, and softball before pursuing psychology at the University of Nevada. At age 21, she began competitive Muay Thai kickboxing, compiling an impressive 12–1–1 record.
